Flea controlQ: I am a petsitter in san antonio. one of my clients argues with me that frontline and advantage does not kill flea eggs, so she won't use anything on her dog. needless to say her dog comes to my house and gets fleas. she said her house was infested for two weeks. my dog and other clients use frontline and advantage and i have no sign of fleas in my home. why do i not have a problem if her dog was lying on my rug for ten days, with fleas? A: Frontline plus will kill flea eggs, my suggestion is not to allow her untreated pet in your home.

Arizona doesn't have fleas?Q: We just moved from middle georgia(lots of 'skeeters, ticks, fleas, and redbugs) to se arizona. there is little grass here except during the monsoon season. my longhair (indoor-outdoor) dog and 3-indoor cats have been on revolution for the combo heartworm, ear mites (cat), and tick & flea 'protection'. the army vet here says we really have no significant need for flea and tick control in this area and wants to change to a brand that just protects from heartworm. they don't even carry revolution at the army vet clinic. my question is: is this normal to change products solely due to the geographic location? my concern is that for 4 months in late summer there is quite a bit of high grass, and also sometimes standing water. and, also... i hate bugs of any sort. what do you think about this total product change? A: Every part of country is different in terms of parasites that exist there so it is ok to switch. i personally dont feel heartworm prevention is necessary in cats and i would stick with frontline or advangage for flea/tick control

Unusual cat behaviorQ: My 11 month old male cat keeps rubbing his butt across my carpet. he does this all the time, like when he gets out of the litter box, first wakes up from nap, ect. i have tried everything to get him to quit since sometimes feces is left on the carpet. i just gave him worm medicine about a month ago. what is wrong with him and how do i get him to quit. A: You need to have anal glands checked out at vet as even though more common in dogs, still get impacted in cats on occasion
Boxers fightingQ: I have 2 female boxer 2 and 2and a half we adopted the older one when the yonger boxer was two months old. we have 2 smaller dogs in the house, the boxers are in pens outside. the younger boxer is very aggressive with the older boxer but sweet and loving toward smaller dogs....any ideal why the younger boxer is so agressive with the other boxer? we have separated them, they used to stay in same pen but would wind up fighting.........help..... A: I would work with trainer on behavior modification techniques as only way to solve these kind of heirarchal issues with dogs in groups. you could also try flower essences from health food store like rescue remedy for all dogs to help reduce stress as well as flower essence known as holly for the aggressor to help with anger
